Lawrence L. Limpus is Of Counsel at Limpus + Limpus where he specializes in intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Larry has nearly 40 years of significant experience as an in-house and private practice attorney. His practice focuses on licensing, acquisition and divestiture of technology, patent litigation, and foreign and domestic patent prosecution. He is also well versed in patentability and infringement evaluations, including patent clearances and validity opinions.
Mr. Limpus has experience with patent infringement litigation in U.S. and European courts and trade secret litigation against departing employees. He also has experience with patent oppositions in foreign patent offices and courts.
Larry handles matters related to numerous electrical, mechanical and chemical technologies, including electrical equipment, devices for remote keyless entry, process control valves, blow molding equipment, products including inorganic chemicals, and flame retardant polymers. He also has experience with medical devices in the field of respiratory care such as tracheostomy tubes, patient warming, automatic injectors and syringes, imaging agents, and oxygen supply devices.
Prior to joining the firm, Larry was Of Counsel at Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin in St. Louis. Prior to that, he was Assistant General Counsel, Patents and Trademarks at Tyco Healthcare/Mallinckrodt, Inc and Senior Patent Counsel at Monsanto Company. In addition to his career as a lawyer, Larry has more than eight years experience as an instrument and electrical engineer in a petrochemical plant.
